The lab is facilitated by a team who’ve been developing and delivering online, blended and face-to-face learning programs and products together since 2013.

Alex Neuman is a Learning Designer and Facilitator and former Head of Learning Design at Hyper Island. He was the co-author of the Hyper Island Toolbox and an educational specialist with the global peace organization CISV International.

Bella Funck is a Learning Strategist and Coach. She is the founder of ThePersonalCanvas.com and former Director of Development and Online Courses at Hyper Island, where she lead the digitalization of methodology and offering.

Why the lab

How and what we learn is changing. 

Leaders of learning are increasingly expected to deliver learning that is more accessible, personalised, and that makes use of technology to have the greatest impact for their learners. 

In 2020, with social distancing and remote work becoming non-optional parts of our daily lives, the challenges and opportunities of online learning are more immediate and urgent than ever. 

The Lab is created on the Principles from our Hybrid Learning Methodology®.

Here’s what we believe: there is no one solution that fits all. Online learning calls for new ways of thinking and doing that includes plenty of experimentation and cooperation. The best online learning is designed for its own unique context with creativity and care.

Online learning is sometimes dismissed as too passive and uninspiring. It doesn't have to be! We know that learning online can be social, creative, hands-on, and personal – just as much as – and sometimes even more than – face-to-face experiences. The key is to apply mindsets, techniques and technology that unlock the full potential for learners in the digital space. 

And we created this lab to be a space to help you do just that.
