Anyone want to collaborate/group project?
I want to get a few people together to do a group project. Preferably in Java but can be another language.
We could all share ideas and vote on which idea is best. Designate roles to different people depending on their ability in the language. All help is welcome!
We can develop an application that can be used for education. I've tried many, and none of them seem to engage me in using them.
This is just a simple thought.
Education in any particular field? Are you thinking of an app? or a website?
I should've been more specific, an app useful for time-management, particularly for students. It's not necessarily an education genre, more like utility.
The app would be basic though and probably will not have a long duration to complete.
Again, this may be pretty simple!
I've thought about that same idea recently. I recently bought a Panda Planner (https://www.amazon.com/Panda-Planner-Gratitude-Productivity-Management/dp/B013Z5Y70K) and liked the layout. I thought it'd be fun to make a time management site/app based on it.
Hey I think that's a good idea. I also have some working knowledge of HTML and CSS alongside java .
I recently opened something in my local freecodecamp group. Nobody wanted to work with react/react-native, I was using firebase but we can build a back-end if you folks would like. I have a c9 workspace that could be used for this, and I haven't created a project repo quite yet.
And this is interesting. I haven't used a Panda Planner or use any time-management/productivity apps myself.
I'm going to have a look online to see what has already been done and get some inspiration.
I haven't had any experience with firebase just been looking at the docs. Looks interesting, but I've found a number of people that didn't have a good time with it. Here:.
Do you know any alternatives?
Another thing, would you guys prefer talking over here, or maybe another platform like facebook messenger. let me know!
marcuz, setting up a discord or gitter room might be more coherent and easier to reach people. Just a thought
Glad that the idea is going through!
Maybe "Slack" might be easier to reach people. It's an app where you can create a group and basically talk amongst each other. It's very similar to this setup, but convenient as it is in application form.
Slack is available across IOS, Android, and desktop devices.
But I'm fine with whatever the majority decides!
I am from NYC I am definitely down for this. Though we should meet up on hangouts and discuss a viable software architecture, technology we are going to use, aims and risk analysis.
Click on this link to join our gitter room and we can discuss on there
